Authors A to Z - Stephen James Walker
Stephen James Walker is one of the directors and co-owners of Telos Publishing Ltd. He started watching Doctor Who from the very first season, and soon became hooked! Stephen joined the original Doctor Who Fan Club in 1973, and has been actively involved in celebrating and writing about the series ever since. He was editor of the seminal reference work Doctor Who - An Adventure in Space and Time for most of its run, and was also responsible for its 'sister' publication, The Data-File Project. With David J Howe and Mark Stammers, he created and edited the multiple award-winning fanzine The Frame and wrote a number of acclaimed Doctor Who reference books for Virgin Publishing, including The Sixties, The Seventies, The Eighties and the Handbook series. He contributed background information chapters to Titan Books' Doctor Who script book series, and co-wrote, with Andrew Pixley, one of Marvel UK's Doctor Who Yearbook titles. He was the initiator and, for the first two volumes, co-editor of Virgin Publishing's Decalog books - the first ever Doctor Who short story anthology range. He has also contributed numerous articles to Doctor Who Magazine and other genre titles and fanzines. His many other interests include British cult TV, film noir, vintage crime fiction, Laurel and Hardy and an eclectic mix of soul, jazz, R&B and other popular music.
